All Integrity Internet access accounts come with 10 megabytes of personal website space to allow our clients to create their own personal webpage. We have listed the most Frequently Asked Questions relevant to creating this style of website. If you have any further questions email
with your query.
How do I create my own Web Pages? You will need to buy a web design product like Macromedia Dreamweaver or Microsoft Frontpage. Depending on your level of computer proficiency you may wish to undertake a short course or teach yourself the basics with a 'how to' book.
What will my address be for my Personal Website space? The web address or URL for your Personal Website space will be http://my.integritynet.com.au/username/. If you have a domain name, you cannot use it with the free server space you are allocated with your Integrity Account. For information on Domain Name and Website Hosting visit our products & services section.
What is FTP? FTP stands for File Transfer Protocol. You need an FTP program to transfer your files from your hard drive to your directory on our server. We recommend you use CuteFTP or wsftp as it is simple to use.
What is a Search Engine? A Search Engine is a utility used to search for websites relevant to a particular topic. Search Engines search websites for information about a site's content. The search engine then stores this information and retrieves relevant pages when a particular topic is chosen.
How do I submit my site to Search Engines? In order to submit your website to search engines you will need to visit the Search Engines you wish to submit your site to and find the link that enables you to add your website to the search engine. The link will say something like "Add URL" or "Add Site". It may take some time for your site to come up as thousands of sites are added daily.
What is a Domain Name? A Domain Name is a registered name for a Website. Commercial Domain Names in Australia take the form of www.yourbusinessname.com.au. If you would like to register your own domain name we would be happy to do so on your behalf. Please email us for more information. You may not use already registered Domain names for your personal website space but must use the Integrity address we assign you. We will be happy to provide pricing on Domain and Web Hosting if you would like to utilise your own Domain Name.
What is HTML? HTML is short for Hyper Text Markup Language. All pages that you view through your browser on the internet will be written in HTML coding and will have a file extension .html or .htm.
Why do I get "Error 403 - Access Forbidden" when I go to my address? The reason for getting this error is usually that you have failed to name your initial page index.html or index.htm. To fix the problem rename the first page to index.html or else type in the full address into your browser ie www1.Integrity Net.com.au/users/username/filename.html.
